Beginning Judo for Women
While it goes without saying that women are welcome at all times in the Fundamentals and Senior Advanced class (according to rank), the instructors of the Beginning Judo for Women class recognize that some women would be more comfortable working on the basics in a low-key environment focused more on technique than on preparation for shiai.
In pursuit of this goal, this class is a fun introduction to basic Judo. Classes will cover falling, throwing and ground work techniques, as well as stretching and strengthening exercises. Students will be introduced to both Kata (form) and Shiai (competition) techniques. The class is suitable for students of all ages and athletic backgrounds.
In addition, if you are registered for the Women's Class, you are welcome to join us for a strength and conditioning workout from 10:45-11:30. This is a circuit training workout designed to improve both cardio function and strength in ways that will assist with judo training.
